Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP) is a funding program of the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion & Sport that provides financial support to Ontario’s amateur high performance athletes. The Program supports coach development initiatives through the Coaches Association of Ontario, program development initiatives though the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario and directly supports athletes in two ways – firstly, it supports any Canada Card applicants who are permanent residence of Ontario and currently receiving Sport Canada Athlete Assistance; and secondly, it supports Ontario Card applicants who have been nominated and approved for funding by their respective provincial sport organizations.
OBSA the Provincial Sport Organization responsible for athlete carding in athletics, goalball, powerlifting, judo and swimming. The Ontario Card Program deadlines are annually in September for powerlifting and goalball and December for athletics, judo amd swimming.
